HGV 2 Driver

Accelerate Personnel are actively recruiting for an experienced and reliable HGV 2 Driver to work on behalf of our established client, covering delivery and collection routes throughout the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV 2 driver looking for ongoing day work, competitive pay, and the flexibility and support of a dedicated driving recruitment team.

You will typically be required to complete up to 10 drops per shift, alongside scheduled collections. The role involves regular customer interaction, loading and unloading responsibilities, and ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and professionally.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Driving a HGV 2 vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Completing up to 10 delivery drops per day, depending on the planned route.
• Carrying out scheduled collections from customers and other locations.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods where required.
• Following allocated routes and delivery schedules efficiently.
• Maintaining a high standard of customer service at all delivery and collection points.
• Returning all completed paperwork to the client at the end of your shift.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Complying with all relevant drivers’ hours, tachograph, road safety, and company procedures.
• Maintaining a professional attitude and appearance while representing Accelerate Personnel and our client.

We are looking for drivers who are dependable, professional, and confident operating Category C vehicles across the UK.

Requirements:
• Full UK driving licence with valid Category C entitlement.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification/card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience working as a HGV 2 Driver.
• Good knowledge of UK roads and the ability to navigate effectively.
• Strong understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
• Reliable and punctual approach to work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy delivery schedule.
• Physically capable of assisting with loading and unloading duties where required.

The successful driver will be expected to communicate effectively with customers, ensure deliveries are completed accurately, and maintain a high standard of service throughout every shift.
